Deacon Health: Comprehensive Care Right on Campus
One of the most challenging aspects of being the parent of a college student is being away from them when life gets tough, especially when they are sick. That is why we recently renamed our student health services, Deacon Health. We want you and your students to be confident that Deacon Health is here for them. At our on-campus primary care facility, we have board-certified providers who can provide an array of services to address preventive care, treat acute illness, and manage minor injuries. Recently accredited by the Accreditation Association of Ambulatory Health Care, Deacon Health features a lab, pharmacy, allergy injections, and x-ray on-site. Students can schedule an appointment through their Deacon Health Portal Monday through Friday during daily operational hours, or walk in on most Saturdays during the school year for same-day services.
We also know that illness does not always happen when it is convenient. Deacon Health also features an after-hours nurse line to help triage immediate concerns during nights and weekends. By calling 336.758.5218, students can follow the prompts and will be connected with a nurse who can help students manage their illness until the clinic opens or let them know when it is time to seek urgent care. Visit Deacon Health to learn more.
Deacon Health partners with Deacon Dining to ensure that any over-the-counter medications your student may need is available to them on campus. The POD near Subway is open late and offers most of the items we would recommend.
